Is it risky to leave it until I am 31 to get pregnant?
Answers:
It depends on what you mean by risky. The younger you are, the easier it is to get pregnant with no medical intervention. Also, having kids at a younger age protects you more from breast cancer later in life. So, if you have to decide and you are certain you want kids, the earlier the better (strictly from a health perspective). However, sometimes life gets in the way of "best".
If you choose to wait until you are 31, you are less likely to be able to get pregnant. It will probably take you longer to conceive. And there is a *slightly* higher risk of having a baby with Down Syndrome (DS). (There are those who say that the risk of having a baby with DS is not related to age directly but to x-ray exposure--which would *tend* to be higher in older women. If you plan to wait to have kids, you might want to do everything possible to avoid x-ray exposure.)
Other than that, you're fine! Only you can decide what is more important to you.

not in this day and age no
good luck and well done!
Your risks do go up, but it rerally depends on ur family history, genetics and such.
Go see a doctor about it, and they shoudl gie u a betetr idea of ur risks.
nope thats a good age to get pregnant.
No. You would be put on high-risk alert for someone over 38, obese, or high blood pressure. You will be okay.
nope, but keep in mind as you get older there will be more tests done and "risks" to watch out for, but as long as you are in good health...you will be ok, good luck to you and your future little ones!!
my friend is 35 aits her first child and she is fine!!! dont be daft ey! slong as your not poly everything should be k xxx good luck xxx
I was 38 and 39 with my last two pregnancies and those two pregnancies where harder on my body than the first two which at that time I was 19 and 24. I really don't think there is that much of a risk if you take good care of yourself.
I don't think that there is much of a risk althought the risk does increase each year. I am 35 and I do not have any kids. My gyno tells me that I am fine and at this time dont
have anything to worry about. I am not planning on having my first child until around 37 or 38
It's not risky, but if you want to have more than one child you should start earlier.
I was wondering the same thing ...I am 31 and I want to have a family soon I'm glad you asked this question But I don't want to wait too long I want to still be young when my kids are older.
My last pregnancies were at 34 and 35. I had to have many more tests done at 35 than I did at 34. That year made a difference to the medical professionals.
However, I was 27 when I had my first baby, 29 when I had my second. Not a problem getting pregnant either time, nor was there a problem with any pregnancy.
As other people have said, you may have to have more tests than you would at 25, but those are just precautions.
As long as you're healthy, and take care of yourself during pregnancy -- regular checkups, vitamins, good diet -- I'm sure you will be fine.
Yes, medicaaly the best age for a girl to get pregnant is from 20 - 25. After this age, there are chances for complications and even not conceiving too. There are risks even when you are between 20 - 25 but it is comparitively less.
All the best
If that is your choice, nope. If women can have healthy babies at 40, you can at 31. Just be careful on the protection. Sometimes our plans have little surprises that appear 9 months later.
I hope not!! I am 33 and trying for my first one...but there are risks involved regardless of age...good luck!!!!
