Anyone have any experience with cervical cerclage?

In January 2005 my husband & I lost our first baby at about 22 weeks, for no apparent reason. My doctor has advised that the next time I become pregnant we can do a cervical cerclage at 14 weeks, which apparently stitches the cervix shut to help prevent premature separating from the wall, or early labor. Does anyone out here have any experience with the cerclage, and any advice? We are not pregnant yet (although I have been off of birth control for a year now!), but I would like anyone elses' thoughts. Thanks!!

Answers:
My friend here at work had it for her first and now she's prego with her second and she had it done this time too...she had had a cone biopsy when she was a teenager and I guess that put her in the "high risk" category.

She took two days off work, went in and had it done...and said it was no big deal at all...

If your doctor advises it, it's probably the best way to go...
