Abortion and Conceiving?

My sister had an abortion when she was 17 years old. She is now 29 years old and has been trying to conceive for the past 6 months and hasn't gotton pregnant. Is this just bad Karma? Or could something have gone wrong when she had the abortion?

Answers:
If she wants to know if there's been damage from the abortion, I would have her see her doctor. They can do an ultrasound of her uterus to see if the lining, etc, look normal.

As long as she got her abortion at a medical facility, I would think she was well taken care of.

Bad karma?? No way.

Other Answers:
It takes a healthy couple on average 6 months to a year to conceive. I wouldnt worry about it until she has been trying for over a year. Then the doctors will help out after that.

Your sister needs to be patient. It takes an average of 6 to 12 months to conceive. If she has not conceived after a year, then she should see her gynecologist for fertility testing.

I'm an R.N. Has she been checked by a doctor for fertility issues? If she is concerned she should speak with her doctor. Abortions can make it harder to carry a baby because of the D&C you get when you have an abortion, because your cervix was dialated for the sole purpose of the abortion. Just tell her to see a doc, I firmly belive in karma, but not in this situation. Everyone has personal reasons they decide to have an abortion, she had hers as well. Best of luck on her TTC journey.

maybe karma maybe something went wrong I dont know it not right of me to judge

Probably both... maybe one or the other or it could be that they need more 'time'. It can take some people 1 year to get pregnant (and over). I got pregnant after 5 months both times.. It just depends on her timing and all of that... She should keep on trying and go to the doctor to see if there is any damage from the abortion. I really doubt it is karma..

I do not believe that God would be punishing her for something she did when she was a teen. As long as things went fine during the abortion and she doesn't have a tremendous amount of scarred tissue your sister should be OK. She just needs to be patient and relax. look for the book how to choose the sex of your baby it will help your sister judge her concieving dates, and give her advise and signs to look for if there is trouble...

I have never had an abortion and it took me a year to get pregnant.

After you have had abortion(s) you can go onto deliever a healthy baby.

It could be something went wrong with the abortion. Unfortunately this is one of the many side-effects most girls aren't aware of when they go in for an abortion. Of course, there could be other issues, too.
