Reasons : inability to conceive, wanting to give a child who already has nothing something, adults that were adopted sometimes feel the strong urge to adopt orphaned children themselves.
Domestic adoptions are done right her in the USA, they are generally easier than international adoptions because there can sometimes be a lot of red tape that needs to be sorted (it's good to have an attorney). Domestic adoptions, if you get a newborn, always runs the risk of having to give the baby back (the birth mother has 30 days to change her mind). My old boss had to go thru that, however they found the mother unfit after they gave the baby back and my boss and his wife have full custody of her now.

I think that giving a child the opportunity to have a good life. But I guess most couples adopt because they can't have babies. There a re differente laws in each conutry so domestic and international adoptions are quite different.
