Is it more difficult for short women to carry children?
Answers:
I am only 1 inch taller that you and have had 2 children. The problem is not carrying them, it is delivering them. I had to have sections with both of mine because I have a small pelvis and couldn't deliver vaginally. Other than that, I had very healthy pregnancies.

im 5'2 and i was grand and the baby was perfectly ok,my friend is about 4'10 and had a baby three months ago and he was perfect too, remember the best things come from small packages!
im 4'91/2 and im able to have children.
I'm 5'3. I didn't have any problems. It was uncomfortable but being pregnant is supposed to be.
What's really cool is that babies fit their mothers. Majority of the time, in a normal uncomplicated pregnancy, the baby will not grow any larger than what the mother's body can handle. It's just sometimes the mother's mind and body have different ideas of what the ideal size of a baby is... :)
FINALLY SOME1 AS SHORT AS ME!!!
umm, no, you just may get tired.

I'm a half inch from bieng 5ft & only weighed 83lbs when I first got pregnant. That was in 85. I now have three and the last two are 8 years apart. It's not really your size,it's how tough you are. With each pregnancy I was never over 95lbs. and each time they said I couldn't carry full term. Yet my first has already served in the war from 9/11. It's really what you feel YOU can do sweetie.Doctors don't know everything.
My great grandmother had 9 children and my grandmother had 4 children. Both were just over 5 feet tall. I have had 5 myself but am 5'5" still my short friends who had babies said their only complaint was at the end of the pregnancy when lungs, liver, heart are shoved up under your ribs and evey other internal organ is shoved down into your pelvis. I think the shorter you are the more diligent you have to be about weight gain and the more weight you gain the harder it is on all of your organs and the larger the baby will be too. If you are diabetic the baby could be HUGE and that would not be good for either of you. DO ask your doctor but tiny women the world over have babies every day. Good luck and God bless you!
I am 4 foot 11 inches tall just like u & i had 2 babies natural births (no c-sections), carried the babies almost to term, 1st was 3 weeks early & 2nd was 1 week early, no problems during pregnancies, only thing is being short u might have a low birth weight baby, my 1st was 6lb 5oz & my 2nd was 6lb, no health probs in either baby. good luck.

my own pregnancies
it depends on the size of your pelvis, if you have a very small pelvis your going to have alot of trouble at the end but for the most part height really doesnt matter.
I am 5' and i had a huge 9 lb 3 oz boy a year ago and didn't have any problems with him. He was born 1 day before his due date.
I am also only 4 foot 11 inches and I not only had 1 baby, but 3 (including twins). The boys are now 11 months old and very healthy and happy. Now it was difficult carrying them and at one point I was bigger around then I am tall but the end result is all that matters. As for my singleton (10 yrs old now), she was a breeze to carry and I never felt better. So just have faith, it will all work out.
