When a woman is in her ovulation cycle...?

at what time of day does the egg generally get release? I dont mean "On what cycle day". What I'm trying to ask is, Does the egg expels from the uterus 1st thing in the morning when she starts her daily activities or at the end of the day when the body is at rest, on the exact day of ovulation? I was talking to a friend whom is also TTC and we were chatting about The Shettle Method. Then the question aroused of "What time of day does the egg get released"? I know people say the best time to have sex is at night so the body can be in one position and the sperm can do its thing. But WHEN the egg is actually released is what has us stumped.

there is no time of day that this happens, otherwise people would know the exact time not to have sex, to not get pregnant!!
