is it ok to take prenatal pills before i get pregnant but if i dont is it still safe to continue taking them?
Answers:
We were trying for over two years before I got pregnant. My doctor had me on them as soon as I said we were going to start. It's not going to hurt you to take these vitamins. If anything, you're helping your body become healthier.
If you decide to breastfeed, you should continue taking them after you have given birth.

yes. the vitamins are concentraited for those that are needed by a pregnant woman, but I have a friend who has taken them for years. Says it makes her hair and nails stronger and healthier.
if you have a healthy diet you dont need to take any vitamin supplements, but it is recommened that you take folic acid while you are trying to conceive and up to 12 weeks after conceiving, good luck

Yes it's okay to take them. It will build up your system for the pregnancy and you will have an easier time cause you won't be as tired since your body will have what it needs to cope with the pregnancy. The only difference between regular vitamin supplements and pregnancy vitamin supplements is that they have more of the vitamins your baby would be removing from your system. Also drinking apple juice is another good thing to do before and while your pregnant because it contains a good supply of folic acid. Hope that helped.
Yes, they're just vitamin pills that are suitable for women who are pregnant or lactating - they won't harm you in any way.
You can start pre-natals before you are pregnant. In fact many ob/gyns will suggest that you do! You can take them pre-concpetion, all the way through delivery. And probably even beyond delivery.
Pre-natals are just higher in some minerals and vitamins. Folic acid is one of those.

Anyone at childbearing age can take them, they wont' do any harm just allow you to be sure you have the correct nutrients should conception occur.
it is completely safe to take them. they're good for you and will help you become healthier before conceiving and if you don't conceive it is still a good vitamin...I have taken them for years and they make your hair and nails grow...they make you much healthier in general.

yes my doc prescribed them to me when i was trying to get pregnant. She also said you are supposed to take them even after the baby is born if you plan to breast feed.
I've been told before to take pre-natal vitamins, and I'm never having kids. It's just vitamins. Talk to your doc if you have concerns about them.
i just took a health class and you should take the birth control pills after you "do it." you should keep on doing this for the next week or better yet, consult a doctor.
it has been said that women as young at 15 should start taking prenatal vitamins. my husband was told that it would be beneficial for him to take them once a week as well they stop the diseases of being old like bone deterioration
They have more folic acid then regular vitamins...very good for pre-conception care.

Yes, the doctors say there is nothing wrong with that. My doctor put me on prenatal vitamins 6 months ago, there is no harm in taking them.
Take the vitamins. You'll feel MUCH better. Pregnant or not.
I take prenatal vitamins every day and I am not pregnant nor trying to get pregnant. My doctor says that prenatals are one of the better vitamins to take wether you are trying to conceive or not. I also took them before I got pregnant and continued taking them during my pregnancy. So I would say, Yes, it is ok to take prenatals before pregnancy, during, and after, and even if you are not. GOOD LUCK!
If you are trying to get pregnant then you should be taking prenatal pills. You even need to take them when you are breastfeeding.
its actualy best that you do it that way because your body is more healthy and your body will havr the vitamines right away before you even find out if you are pregnant. mother of 3
ITS VITAMINS.
What's wrong about that !
Its actually probably a little better than a multivitamin especially for hair and nails.
It is not bad for you... all the contrary usually gives you more energy and also you can start taking folic acid and also be sure that you husband also takes folic acid...
YES. ANY WOMEN YOU COULD BECOME PREGNANT SHOULD TAKE PRENATAL VITAMINS. IT TAKES TEN DAYS BEFORE CONCEPTION FOR FOLIC ACID TO BE IN YOUR SYSTEM ENOUGH TO PREVENT BIRTH DEFECTS. I'VE TAKEN PRENATAL VITAMINS FOR YEARS.
