14 days past ovulation and pregnancy test is still negative!?

I am 14dpo and having all kinds of pregnancy symptoms. I know that taking a pregnancy test and going to the doctor is the only sure fire way to tell if you are pregnant but I just cant get it out of my head! My BBT has been a lot higher the past four days than it has been before that! My nipples are so sore (sorry TMI) which is not normal for me at all! I guess what I am trying to say is that if I am getting a negative result at 14dpo, does that mean that I am not pregnant? And how long is too long before I see a positive test if I were pregnant?

Answers:
If you confirmed ovulation by a rise in your bbt and it has risen again, there's a strong likelihood that you're pregnant. A false negative this early isn't all that unusual. If your bbt remains elevated until 18 days past ovulation, that's almost a sure indicator of pregnancy. Give it a couple of days and test again.

BTW, hoboken, she said she's 14 days past ovulation (dpo) NOT that she's 14! Does she sound 14? Do most 14 year old monitor their bbt or have any earthly idea of when they've ovulated? Geesh...
go by the tests & the doctor, yr problems could be due to other reasons
