Can you use the patches that doctors give you to prevent you from become nausea when pregnant?

Do you know if you can take the patches doctors give to you to help prevent you from getting sick to your stomach, when going on a cruise or airplane? ( used to prevent motion sickness) Can you use them when you are pregnant to prevent getting sick to your stomach. Or will it harm the baby.

Answers:
It crosses the placenta. Causes fetal tachycardia, decreased heart rate variability when used at term.

One drug that is completely safe during pregnancy is called Emetrol. It's a liquid medicine over the counter. I get it at wal-mart.
I don't know about patches, but you can get "seasickness bands" from the drugstore and use those to help prevent morning sickness.

The BEST way to prevent morning sickness if to eat very small very frequent meals. Always keep something on your tummy and try to eat protein whenever you can.
NO. pregnancy nausea is an entirely different thing than motion sickness, and the medication may be harmful to the embryo which is at at fragile and senstitive place in early pregnancy. Acupuncture and chinese herbs can be helpful and are safe when given by a licensed acupuncturist and graduate of chinese medicine. there are also wrist bands that you can wear that put pressure on acupressure spots, and reduce nausea. I dont know any doctors who will prescribe medication for nausea, even in severe cases. it will pass. be joyful.
