Normally i would only drink 1 glass of water a week, now @ 4 weeks preg. i cant stop drinking it. why is that?
Answers:
One glass of water a week is not enough, so it is good that you are drinking more...especially since you are pregnant. If you are having a continual thirst feeling, like you can't drink enough water, it is very important to have yourself checked for diabetes. My husband has it and one of the biggest clues to his uncontrolled blood sugar was the fact that he was always thirsty and was constantly drinking huge amounts of water. It is common for a person who doesn't have diabetes to get it when they are pregnant (gestational diabetes) and they usually do a check for that later in the pregnancy. Please, please have yourself checked soon. My husband nearly went into a diabetic coma because his blood sugar was so high for so long and he never even knew he had the disease.

I drank lot's of water too, i didn't crave it put I was always thursty for it, so I think it's preety normal and not to mention healthy
Your body must really need it if you are craving it so much, and judging from your history of drinking one glass a day I am sure you do. My OB told me to drink 1/2 my body weight in ounces per day. So, if you weight 130 lbs, drink 65 oz. Your body is telling you it needs it. I don't really like orange juice, but I drank a lot during my first pregnancy, and later found out that it contains loads of folic acid. My body knew something I didn't. You need the water, so keep going!
Your body will crave what it needs. At a time of pregnancy, your body not only needs to keep you hydrated but also your baby. When you become pregnant, your body builds an amneotic sac surrounding the baby. This sac is made of fluids, mainly, you guessed it, water. So, it's perfectly normal. Keep drinking that water!!!
wen your preggo you crave certain things because your body needs certain things from them. this is just a way of your body letting you know that you need more water. just keep drinking the water. its healthy for you and better than tea, juice, and pop. but it is completely normal.mommy of 2
