I need any information on surrogate pregnancy. Help from anyone who has been through this would be great!?

My husband and I have had MANY failed pregnancies and we are trying to explore some alternatives. All that I have been able to find out has been from agencies who want to charge us tens of thousands of dollars. The agencies that we have spoken to have warned us against using a friend and have even suggested that there may be legal reprocussions if we try to. Please help with any experience.

Contact a laywer that deals with this type of contract first. He can explain all the legal problems that you and your husband are not thinking of. I would say not to use a friend since the personal bond is far to close. I have carried a child for another couple and things went well for us. Have all your sperm counts done and check your eggs before investing money in the ivf though. Make sure that you can afford the medical bills before since your insurance will not cover the mother, only the child after birth. If you do use your sperm and eggs, even if the carrier didn't want to "give the child over" after the birth, she was only a carrier and the childs dna and everything was created from the two of you and nothing with her, but I would still stay away from friends.

I have never been pregnant but i have watched many many many tv shows on discovery health channel about surrogat pregnancies and so I do think that if you want children then you should go through with it as long as the friend you choose will not get attached to your child! :) I hope you have luck with your situation!

it may be difficult legally if the friend decides not to give up the baby to you, but also it will be expensive. I was going to surrogate but the family member that it would have been for could not afford the $40000.00 medical bill.... if you are willing to let your husband, how do I say this, skip the test tube and do it naturally (if you get my drift) it will save money but may cause marital problems... are you an older couple? maybe you waited too long to have children. age-related infertility kicks in at age 26 or so.
