How long can sperm live in the open air?

I had sex with my girlfriend (using a condom treated with a spermicidal lubricant) and after I took the condom off, I put my penis in her a few min. later to tease her. I did not ejaculate in her. My question is, if there were any sperm still on my penis after sex, how long before they would have been killed off. And can she still get pregnant under the conditions I've just described?

Sperm can live for quite a long time in the open air, at least nine hours. I only know this because I have done research, and witnessed live sperm under a microscope after nine hours. However, only a small amount were alive after that long period of time. If you stuck your penis in her within minutes after ejaculating, then yes, there is no doubt that sperm entered her. With the residual spermicidal lubricant and the small amount of sperm on your penis, I wouldn't worry too much. But, don't do it again, unless you want a child!!
