How long should one wait between pregnancies?

I hope to have 4-5 children but want them while I am young.

i would plan it so that by the time you have your second kid, your first is 2 yrs old and so on...make them all two years apart...this will:
1) give your body a chance to recuperate and rest
2) allow for adequate years between children and avoid sibling jealousy
3) allow for you to recuperate financially and save up for the next kid
4) allow you to get a feel of your kid and how to do things one-handed and manage life with a child, etc...especially the more you get, the harder it will get...
many of my friends have told me how if their kids are too much older than each other, well, too much sibling rivalry and leaving one out, etc...but the same goes if they're too young...you want each child to feel special and have that time with you
just make sure that once you have your second kid, you still spend time alone with your first and so on...pick a day out of the week in which you go out to the movies or park or whatever with that kid, just the two of you so he/she doesn't feel threatened, rather, learn to love his/her sibling...

A Harvard study showed that if you leave at least 4 years between births that the children will be smarter and higher achievers. The mother can't give kids who are spaced too close together enough attention for the stimulation they require. Also, pregnancy depletes the minerals in your body and you need several years to get them back. Do you want quality or quantity?

Best approach would be,

Start between 28-32 years (your age)
Have first child by the time you are about 31-31, next child a few months later, 32-33. Then wait until you are 35 and do the same thing. That should give you enough time to have a 5th child by the time you are 39 if you want it.

By that age you will be mature enough to handle five kids and mature enough to cope with five pregnancies.

i have 3 boys, 11,7 and 11 months, i want 2 more before i'm 30, i would space them around 3 years apart or 4 I heard that you need to wait at least a year before becoming pregnant in order to give your body time to rest Hope this helps, Good Luck
