I am going to be a serogate for my sister and would like advice from other serogates?

I haven't been a surrogate yet, but I plan on doing this also. I have done a lot of research and there is a website I suggest you check out. It's nice, you can talk to other surrogates and get information about the experience. It is www.surromomsonline.com. You will definitely want to check with your health insurance company and see what they will cover for you and the baby. Also, if you work, you will want to check with your employer on short term disability rules. You will need to check to see if your State is surrogate friendly, there are odd rules and regulations in some States. You will want to discuss with your sister views on selective reduction, abortion if there are birth defects, or how to handle risks to your health (I know these are unpleasant to think of when you want to give such a wonderful gift, but it's better to think of this now than discover differences of opinion if something were to come up.)
