50mg of Clomid?

I haven't had a period in over a year. My hormones dropped and my doctor discovered that I have PCOS. My husband and I are trying to conceive, so my doctor put me on 50mg Clomid. Most other women I have talked to with the same problem say they only get pregnant on 150mg. Has anyone gotten pregnant on 50mg?

Answers:
I got preg on 100 mg. The first month was 50 mg and I didn't conceive, then the second month I did on 100 mg. Everyone is different, but I had good luck, better than some. I know someone that took Clomid for well over a year and still didn't get preg. I have PCOS too. I hope that your doc got you back on track with your periods the right way, and not with progesterone. Diabetic meds are what's really needed to get someone with PCOS on the right track, and then after birth you still need to keep up with an endocrinologist. Also, make sure that your gyno doesn't make the same mistake mine did. For some reason he didn't realize that I had PCOS, too busy or something, but anyway, I didn't get my glucose tollerance test until my 3rd trimester and had full blown gestational diabetes that I needed to be on insulin to control. Someone with PCOS is almost guaranteed to have gestational diabetes, and should be screened in the first and second trimesters. Make sure you mention this to your doc when you do conceive.
relax and take the 50mg
not tosayyour doc know better, but this is yoru first try
you never know
i would advise you to have sex every other day after you have your last clomid pill
Good Luck
I took the 50 mg and it did what it was supposed to...I got pregnant twice. I didn't have pcos...I had been on the depo shot and it had stopped ovulation. Try the 50 mg for a couple of cycles...they test you during your cycle to see of you ovulated...if you did...then there is no reason to make the dose higher.
