2 questions in 1!?

I just got married and we are starting to think that we should have kids sometime in the future
have been off Birth control for almost 2 years now.
Here's the situation:
I have had irregular periods for a long time !
I was in an accident in 1999 and I was on Birth Control up until September 2004.
I had my period on the clock every 28 days.
Since being off B.C I go months withouit having my period (i went for 9 months without it)
I also haven't had a period since Dec 17 2005

I have been to the doc and I keep going for blood tests and still nothing .
Should my partner be tested as well?
When I don't get my period can I still get pregnant?

Answers:
it sounds like you are anovulatory. i would consult with an endocronologist (infertility specialist). you are not going to get pregnant while not ovulating! you can have your partner's sperm count tested... but that shouldn't be your main focus right now. an endocronologist will know what forms of drugs to put you on to force ovulation for conception purposes. I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!

Other Answers:
ask your dr. that kind of question when you get your period back it doesn't matter how long it was stopped. just go at it like rabbbit just remember have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Can't really say much, but I think your husband should get tested as well . "Remember, you can still become pregnant even though you are not menstruating." (www.bcbswny.com)
HOWEVER,
"The more irregular your period is, the more difficult it is to predict ovulation." (www.babycenter.com)

THUS, although, it will make it harder to pinpoint with accuracy when is the very very precise moment you can conceive, it does NOT mean you cannot conceive.

Just relax, save your money for the baby but also for something to have fun, like travel together and have your "BABYMOON" now before your Pregnant (I'll let you look that up in a search engine if you have not heard the term), because soon you will not have "just the 2 of us", so enjoy it while you can, take lots of photos of Mommy and Daddy before Baby for the "baby" to have and for your baby album and then later you can look back and smile fondly!

IF you are anxious about conceiving...get an opinion from a Board Certfied Gynecologist who specializes in Infertility. And yes most insurance companies will pay for a 2nd opinion on something like this because your irregular periods should be ruled out totally just to be sure it's not something treatable.

You might want to check your hormone levels. You might have low estrogen from being on the pill and your body hasn't caught up yet. You can still get pregnant without having a period, you might want to consult an ovulation predictor. It doesn't hurt to have your husband checked too.... There are medecines which can regularise the period. Check them out with a doctor. Regularise the periods is the best way, natural way.
Otherwise, ask you doctor for artificial insemination.
Your partner's test are not going to be much useful, except sperm count.
