Has anyone gotten pregnant using Metformin? If so how long did it take? Any complications.....

Yes, I did take Metformin when I was trying to get pregnant. It is not for getting pregnant but it helps with ovulating and Miscarriages in woman with PCOS. This medication is used to lower blood sugar also so you should be very careful. This is why I was taking it. I am a type 2 diabetic and had been trying to conceive for 4 years. It does aid in helping to ovulate. You should also work out when on this medication that also helps when trying to conceive with irregular menses.
As for side effects I had none that were listed on the yahoo drug guide. It is also safe to take and will not harm the baby. They will pull you off of it before you are 3 months pregnant.

I was put on metformin and clomid for irregular periods in the hopes that we would stimulate ovulation.
It did not work for me.
