About how long do you have to be off birthcontrol patches to get pregnant?

once my perscription is up I want to try for our first child and want to know how long it will take for the birthcontrol to work out of my system.

Answers:
I've been off for almost 4 months and nada. Then again, I haven't been checking BBT or anything either. I've heard up to 6 months, and I'd be willing to wager the first 3 months I was not regulated. I'm just now getting back to the extremity of my natural hormone-related symptoms, and my clockwork schedule got a little wacked last month.

Still, my gynecologist told me there's no reason that you wouldn't be fertile immediately. His logic: why would you have to take a pill every day if the effects stayed in your system?

At the same time, I think if the body becomes dependent on the artificial cycles, then it might take a while to actually take over again, thus impeding fertility temporarily perhaps.

So my advice is to allow a window of 0-6 months in which pregnancy would be feasible given other life conditions. No way of knowing how YOUR body will respond until you let it!
Don't know the answer to that, but have fun trying :-)
