Has anyone had a blood pregnancy test come back negative and one week later it came back positive?

Can this really happen?

Answers:
Yes, this can really happen regardless if it is a urine or blood test. When you first conceive, your hormone levels are normal. As the cellular mytosis occurs and the pregnancy continues, the hormone levels change. They gradually increase letting your body know you are pregnant. If you take a pregnancy test too soon after conception (before missing your period) it won't show you are pregnant because the tests (both blood and urine) cannot detect the change in hormone levels because the change is so low. A week later, the hormone level would be different and much higher allowing the tests to detect them, thus the positive result.

Hope this answers your question.

Actually, and I'm NOT kidding,I had TEN,count them ,TEN seperate urine tests come back negative, and then had the blood test a few days later was positive. I am not certain if it could be negative, but might be if it's too soon, not enough pregancy hormones or something

It could be that the level of the pregnancy hormone in your blood wasn't high enough to detect. Yes, it can happen. yes, there are many reasons that can happen. Sometimes there is not enough hormone in the test for it to recognise it to be positive... Are you pregnant?

If you have had sex within four days of the test it can produce a false negative. The clinic should have asked. If this is not the case then remember that tests are never 100% accurate

Yes, blood test confirm sooner BUT if the levels are not there yet then it possible

yes that can happen. Yep...happened to me.....was more than a week later tho, more like a month later. It can take some time for enough of the HgC hormone to accumulate in your blood for a test to show positive.
