My son was 3 years, 9 months. I was in the very same boat.
Leave it alone. Forget what the "Professionals" say to do.
That's enough to make you want ot kill somebody.
It's not anything you aren't doing correctly.
It's one last thing he feels he has control over. He will get sick of it, and I am willing to bet a miliion bucks that he won't grow up to poop his pants.
My husband told me that it was scary for him as a boy.that sometimes it hurt. His mom says he was almost 4 years old, too.
One day it just happens, you celebrate, and it's all done.
Good Luck

Maybe he's uncomfortable with the concept of a potty. Try get him to poop in the toilet? He seems old enough to learn

My daughter didn't like pooping in the potty either. I bought something she really wanted...and put it in the bathroom out of reach, but so she could see it...The deal was if she wanted it she would poop in the toilet. It worked. I made a big deal over her pooping in the toilet and it has been fine since. Good Luck Thats bacuase kids when they poop in the potty they feel they are losing a part of them...especially when they flush. By pooping in diapers they kind of get to keep it. does that make sense? I hope so.

Take a step back, no pressure, but with a bribe. Say, "I know you're scared to poop on the potty like a big boy. But the day that you do poop on the potty, I'll take you to the toy store to pick out a new big boy toy to celebrate. It's up to you when."

My son did it that day. After months of not wanting to.

Your friend **** does not wear diapers

Also, your kids needs to be READY to use the potty. If the kid is less than three, this may be the issue.
