what is a way to get rid of ear infection?
Answers:
Go to the doctor and get an antibiotic

You should always have an ear infection looked at. If there's pus in the ear, an antibiotic is necessary to get rid of it. Without treatment, hearing loss is a definite possibility!
If there's no pus, it's possible it will resolve itself without any treatment. Most doctors will suggest that you wait to see if it will go away on its own w/o an antibiotic (if there's no pus involved). They can also prescribe you some drops to put in the ear to relieve some of the pain.
Good luck!
Vix vaporub behind the ears, tons of Frank's hot sauce on anything or by itself, etc. I'm into natural stuff and it works! Oh! and hot soup eaten slowly and with the mug or bowl just under your nose.
I would call the dr and have him tell you how to care for the ear.
go to the doc
By no means am I a doctor and you should only really get med info from a dr or hospital...but my children got ear infections every month. At the 1st sign of them batting at their ear/s, I wait 24-48 hours before calling the dr. and give them childrens tylenol every 8 hours during that time. After that i take them to the dr's and am usually prescribed an antibiotic for them. I took one when he was a baby to the chiropractor (when he was infection free) and after 4 weeks he still didn't have an ear infection. Still had fluid, but no infection, and I'm sure the fluid would have eventually dissapeared too if we had kept going.
You should go to the doctor. An ear infection is nothing to put off or mess with. It can cause hearing loss or hurt the air flow through the ear.
To help your child feel better, turn the hair dryer on LOW, blowdry her ear a little at a time. The heat comforts them in some way. Also, giving the child tylenol will help ease the pain.
Good luck!
Does the toddler have chronic ear infections, or is this the exception rather than the rule?
If acute, then enlist the help of your pediatrician. Anti-biotics will likely be prescribed and should clear up any bacterial infection in the ear.
If chronic I would strongly suggest that you look to possible food allergies. Incomplete digestion of certain proteins can cause food allergies. Specifically, dairy allergy often manifests in the form of chronic ear and/or throat infections.
Incomplete protein digestion and resulting food allergies (most commonly dairy and gluten) are especially common among those of central european ancestry.
Hope this helps!
exactly what "sunflower" said!
you need to take your baby to the doctor or even the er. they can go deaf from ear infections. my son had to get a shot and still take a whole bottle of antibiotics when he had an ear infection.
You have to go to the doctor and get medication.
Go to the doctor..because you need medication anytime you have a infected area.
I don't mess with ear infections. Ear hurts? Fever? Doctor!!!
One other thing... if a baby or young child wakes at about 3:00 am crying and appearing to be in pain, it is likely the child has an ear infection. I don't know what it is, but ear infections often present during the early morning hours.
