how much should a healthy 4 year old weigh?

my daughter will be 4 in may and she weighs 41 lbs. the doctor says that she is in her normal height but that she is off the charts in the weight department. she wears a 4 slim jeans and doesnt look chubby at all is this ok?

Answers:
Just adding my two cents......My four year old son weighs 36 lbs. and slims are even a little big for him. Sounds like your daughter is just right, I wouldn't worry.

Other Answers:
Mine weighs about 28 lbs, and she isn't skinny, but height plays a factor. You can go online to look at the standard growth charts the doctors use.

Honestly it sounds okay to me.. but I have two Boney kids myself... was the Dr. implying that she was too thin? If so, be patient, kids grow tall, then they fill out, then they grow tall again. I wouldn't be concerned as long as she is eating healthy food, is active, and growing. I'm not sure but when my little sister was 4 years old she weighed around 34 pounds.

i know boys grow different than girls do, but my son is off the charts in height and weight. he just turned 5 and he weighs 56 pounds, in a size 7 and comes almost to my shoulders. I'm 5"9'. his Dr. says he is fine, just tall, but proportionate. if her Dr. thinks she is growing normal, I wouldn't worry too much. every child is different

oh man, awesome question. since my almost 4 year old (about 2 more months) daughter has been born, she's been so petite. she grows proportionately thogh and IS growing. She's finally about 29 pounds and can still wear some size 18 months clothing. she's just really long and lean and her bones are a lot less bulky than mine. my doctor has never said anything about her weight though. it's just me that's concerned. i feel like i'm not feeding her enough or not being the supermom...anyway, are you overly concerned with her weight? if you know that she's eating right (4 year olds dont know how to "eat right"...they know how to eat what tastes good) than i think it's fine. everyone comes in different packages, doesn't mean it's wrong if one isn't in the "normal" range. i mean really...what is "normal" these days. good luck
