How much did your toorh-fairy leave you?

I left a dollar under my daughter's pillow and my friends tell me they used to receive coins when they were small. I didn't have tooth-fairy in Japan as I was growing up there. How much is the avarage?

Answers:
The coolest thing I have ever heard was my son's girlfriend's mother would leave a quarter in a plastic baggie under her pillow. But the unique thing was: She would first put glue on the quarter and dip it in glitter.
That was the tooth fairies magic dust.
I thought this was so awesome.
Too bad kids are grown and gone. But grand-kids are coming.

I think this symbolizes: It's not how much to leave. It's how creative can we be.......

Other Answers:
I got coins, mostly. I think the most I ever got was $1, maybe $2.

I usually got 50 cents I would end up getting a dollar in quarters.

A dollar is fine. Enough to make your child happy. I think anything over that would be spoiling them. I know this because I got $5 and I was a spoiled brat.

i got a quater. but a dollar isn't much compared to today's prices. it doesn't matter

Cavity free I usually leave a dollar. If I has a cavity I usually leave 50 cents.

Mother of 5 When i was little, the tooth fairy used to leave us a quarter per tooth.

$5 for one with a cap or a filling as they cost more a $1 for all others

The average is one or two dollars for one tooth. If its feeling generous it sometimes gives three. strange question.

I got a dollar I got change too when I was little. I give my kids $5.

I got a quarter, but my son got a dollar. Inflation!

dont make your daughter believe in those lies.

a hand full of coins and it seemed like a million dollars to me then Stupid tooth fairy, she didn't give us anything in the Philippines too >_<

I say she's a racist.

one dollar I can't remember what my dad would leave me, but for my kids I leave a £1.00 coin and a note from the tooth fairy. This was started by my eldest daughter. She'd write a letter to the fairy and put her tooth in the envelope. Its sweet!

A quarter...I gave my kids a dollar if I had it cause a quarter doesn't buy much. With a dollar you could even go to the dollarstore to buy something other than a sweet. A quarter would probably be better though because you could get a little jar or something to encourage her to save. Poo-poo to those people who can't deal with fun little things like tooth fairies and santas that put a little smile on a child's face.

one dollar, sometimes candy.

umm a dollar to two dollars, just to make the kid happy. i got 20p which is about 50 cents i think

when i was a kid the tooth fairy gave me 50 dollars

i got a dollar for every tooth I lost...one time I got a twenty cause my dad got it mixed up with a buck when pulling it out of his wallet in the dark...

I was losing teeth in the early 80's. I think I usually got about 25 or 50 cents, by I got $2.25 for my last tooth because it was special.

Kids today should get more than we got as kids because things cost more now.

I got somewhere between fifty cents and one dollar. My daughter gets $5. I always got a quarter per tooth, but give my kids $1 per tooth. Anything more than that is spoiling them, in my opinion. Lots of my kids' friends do get more, but I think that is ridiculous.

well the tooth fairy didn't leave me nothing when my teeth was coming out. the tooth fairy left my son 5.00 for 2 teeth.

We left a gold dollar coin for my son when he lost his first tooth.
