Where can i find information about stability on children preschool age?

My fiance has physical custody of his three boys, two are 3 and 4, the 3 year old is in IEP and needs special help cuz his mother didn't work with him so he is like at a year old stage. I need to know where i can go to get professional studies showing it is better for the children to be in a stable environment instead of going there one week then here one week. Please help need this study to show to judge to prove our point of having the boys full time now not when they get into Kindergarten. All help would be appreciated. Thank you

I don't know of any studies myself but you could always google for information.

Perhaps a suggestion would be to take the children to an independent child psychologist for advice and a report for the court.

I think the main thing is that the children see both their parents on a regular and frequent basis and each case is based on an individual basis so you may find it hard to find something that you could use in court.

In Australia, children under 5, are almost always given access visits with their parents on a regular basis. Especially as they are so young, they need frequent contact.

Of course a stable environment is important and even though your fiance will only have custody part time, isn't it better that the children develop a relationship with their mother as well? You probably don't want to hear that.. I know because I didn't want to hear it either at the time I went through this same problem, but over time as my daughter has gotten older, I've realised how important it is to her that she maintains contact with her dad and plus it gives me a break from being the full time carer, when she goes there for holidays.

Hope it all works out for you...
I think T. Berry Brazelton should cover it in "Touchpoints". He is incredible as a Pediatrician and very comprehensive for children's development.
