Is there a standard/averag... age for Asian that a child starts speaking?
One is 4 yrs.old who just started his sentences a few months ago.Possibly might start speech therapy soon?
One will be two yrs.old by August and just repeat papa/mama when he heard us.Simply just repeats a word randomly.
We actually moved here in Switzerland 8 mos ago from Britain.
In Britain my first son had been seen by specialists and the diagnosis is normal.Whilst here in Switzerland ,they recommended speech therapy and even started psychomotor therapy a week ago.Actually he is bilingual( English& Italian).
Anyway, the main reason I asked the question above is that I've just met my neighbors grandson who is the same age of my second son and can speak fluently. Moreover ,answered his name and age appropriately
Answers:
Children start to speak around the age of 1 no matter what language they speak. It sounds like he does have problem and Switzerland is giving him the help that he needs. I wonder if maybe he is autistic.
Other Answers:
Maybe try talk TO your son, and read him books! Play classical music for them! That might help!
They do sound a little slow, but every child is different!
Just go with the flow!
TALK TO THEM AS IF THEY'RE 10 OR 12!
Talk to them ALL day long!
Sounds like they're in a silent world.
My little ones started saying words at 1 year of age.
People often looked at me & wondered why am I talking to a 1, 2 3, 4 or 5 month old baby.
Start talking!
Good Luck!
based on how smart most asian people are, i think somewhere around 2 weeks old.
I would be a bit concerned. The first thought I had was that the children have a hearing problem. This does cause delayed speach, as they are not hearing the use of the language. From what I have read, being bi-lingual at a young age is fine, but perhaps for now you should focus on one language.
Go for a hearing test
