2 1/2 year old is scared?

ok well my toddler is scared and i don't know what to do. we had just rearanged the room and had put the crib infront of a window because he likes looking outside. well it is kind of close to where the dogs cage is. when we were going to sleep he started talking in the crib and the dog heard him and made a lot of noise. this scared the hell out of my toddler and ever since he is scared and refuses to go to sleep unless he is completly coverer head to foot. he starts sweating very badly but there is notging i can do. i need help becuase he didn' t use to be this way.

Answers:
move the crib. then get a a spray bottle fill it with sented water tell him that this is monster repellent. Spray it around his bed each night. let him know that because of the spray nothing bad can get him. I did this for my kids and it worked great. It made them feel safe in their beds again.

Other Answers:
give him a very thin sheet....and move the crib away from the window. Talk to him. He should have a grasp of basic words and be able to tell you what he is scard of.

sounds like he needs therapy seriously ask a professional what can you do to help him overcome this you might have to get rid of the dog I would move him away from the window and show him that its only the dog making all the noise.

have you since moved the crib away from the window? if not you might want to. or give him another room. he might be scared of the room at night itself.
this is not a surefire way, but its worth a shot if you haven't solved your problem yet. for one your not suppose to put a crib in front of a window and two if it scars him just simply move the crib away from the window.
