How can I get rid of dawdling my baby to get him to sleep?
Answers:
Depending on the age of the baby, start slowly, use a routine. Put him to bed awake, but maybe maintain contact by rubbing his back until he falls asleep, then do it for awhile but leave before he falls asleep, after a while, if you use routine, he'll learn to go to sleep on his own.

How old is your baby, depending on the age they have different needs. No matter the age routine works great. IM me if you would like hpqueenlee
regardless of his age, it's a good idea to teach him how to fall asleep on his own. it's a useful skill! the main thing to remember is that he cannot/will not make you feel guilty or upset about this. you have spent money on the safest, most comfortable bed for him, and you are taking your job as a mother seriously by working with him on this. when it is time for bed, start a routine that you can easily follow each night. brush teeth, pjs, drink, read 1 story, sing 1 song, hug good night. even if he's really little, this will be a good time to start the routine, that way he'll never question it and you wont' have to deal with chaos like on supernanny. then just put him in the crib. turn off the light and say goodnight. make sure you stay pleasant, like you don't notice he's upset really. you know he's safe and capable of doing this, so if you show anxiety he will doubt himself too. he will cry, but you have to find something else to do. do not let him guilt you. after 5 - 10 minutes if he's still crying go in and casually lie him down and cover, but don't say anything and don't take him out of the crib. be really boring and kind of wierd. that way he knows he is not controlling you. you are the mommy, you are in control. he knows he can't handle the control, so eventually he will get it and give up. it will be really rough, but you have to keep reminding yourself that it is your job as his mother to be strong in this and to show him that you will always do your best to keep him safe and teach him how to take care of himself - this is just the first step. good luck!!!
