Why is my 15 month old so off balance when he walks?
Answers:
It could be his feet, his ears, his legs, his weight(too heavy or too light), or even a sensory issue. You should be having a check up for him soon since is 15mnths. Express your concern to the pediatrician. They made need to check some things out.
It may nothing maybe he just hasn't learned to use his balance yet.
I stiil recommend talking to the doctor about this just to be sure it isn't something serious.
Other Answers:
Have him checked over good by a good doctor, especially his ears.
he still is not used to using his legs to walk
IF HE HAD A LOT OF EAR INFECTIONS YOU MAY WANT THE HAVE HIS EARS CHECKED.... IF NOT...I WOULDNT WORRY JUST GIVE HIM SOME TIME!!!
Most babies that age are. If you are really worried have him checked out. But I've never seen a 15 mo. old who wasn't off balance
AFAIK, the baby are started to learn to walk at 9 month old. If your baby can walk until now, well, maybe here's the background:
Human being has an organ that controls the balance intuition inside the ears. If that organ is shaken or disturbed "properly", it will makes him started to sick like when he is riding the boat and feel seasick. It will alse makes him can't walk properly, just as if he is in drunk state. Well, in the drunk state, the brain can't process the information from the "balance" organ clearly, so that's why it makes people can't walk properly when they are drunk, even if they want to.
Because of this organ resides within the ears, you can see that most answerer before me also said that you must checked your child's ear to the doctor, because it could be a sign that maybe there is something wrong within your child's ear. Maybe an infection or something, that also affecting that "balance" organ. The sooner, the better, because if there IS something wrong, you're not only saving your children's balance, but also from the deaf.
It's also said that maybe there is something wrong within his cerebellum (the part of brain that organize the balance skill - works altogether with that "balance" organ). But this is more unlikely appear, than the ear problem above.
But that's not the only reason, though. Sure you know that every human has their own ability, how fast someone can learn something. For a baby from crawling learn to walk, it's like you and me from walking learn to acrobatics. Not everyone can elearn as fast as the other one. So, you mustn't demand so hard to your child.

My relative who is also a doctor? =)
He may have problems with his feet. Take him to your pediatrician and you can easily find out. It may be a problem with the arches, especially if the child is stumbling all the time. Sometimes the problem takes care of itself, sometimes needs braces.
