my 3 year old has a foul smell?

around him penis, i noticed it a week ago i thought it was just not clean... but even after bathing it's kinda strong...he is circumsized although not very well, could this be the problem? is there any tips on dealing with this? I bath him daily.

Answers:
Do you actually wash the area with soap and water?

I asked because many parents think soaking is good enough and dont actually clean the area.

If you are concerned, take him to the doctor.

Other Answers:
You may need to get a anti-fungal cream, believe it or not boys and men can get yeast infection and just put it around there. my son had that before, Keep him dress cool, so air can circulate freely. Yeast feeds off of moisture.. HOPE this helps

Call your dr..he/she may be able to recommend something over the phone..maybe he has a small cut that got infected or maybe even a UTI...You may just be better off taking him to the Dr ..Good Luck ! Take him to the doctor, he may have an infection.

Try rubbing a litle monostat cream on him for a day or 2.

I would have him looked at by his doctor. Little boys can develop very bad infections when not circumcised or when it was not done properly. The smell could be bacterial which means "infection". Please take him in asap.

He needs to see a doctor. He may have an infection and his circusision may need to be redone. take him to a doctor

I guess thats what you get for having the end of your sons penis chopped off. Unfortunatly he is suffering for it now.

Take him to a doctor. If you were so concerned then you would have done that already. Pull the little bit of skin back and see if there's any white "stuff" around the base of the head of his penis. If so, wipe it off with a baby wipe, and be sure to pull the skin back and wash that area thoroughly when you bathe him. That white stuff is called smegma...some type of secretion that penises put out. My sons' pediatrician told me about this, but it was nearly two years ago, and I forgot exactly what it is that smegma does. LOL

I have to constantly remind my mom (she baby sits them during the day) to wash this area thoroughly when she gives them a bath. I check every night when I'm diapering them before bed to make sure there's not any of this smegma on them. It can smell sorta funky if it builds up. I would make him a doc. appointment because that foul smell is most likely some sort of infection. Try some antibiotic cream, like neosporin, and take him in. If left untreated, it can lead to something more serious, and he can end up needing surgery.
