My child has dark red spots on the roof of her mouth. Any idea what this is?

We took her to the dr. on Tuesday and they tested her for strep--negative. They said it is just a virus. The spots are still there, but no other symptoms. Have you had this happen to your child?

Answers:
By chance did they look at your childs feet and hands ????? There is a virus called hand foot and mouth that effects children that is highly contagious. If it is this than your child will have like blisters on the bottom of there feet and also on the palms of there hands. Sometimes it goes unnoticed as it is not real widespread. Let me remind you that this is not a fatal disease. It is simple a virus and most viruses cannot be cured with antibiotics. This will eventually go away if it is this. Check your child to see if this may be a reason and if so get back with your doctor.
So the Dr. said it was a virus, did he/she not give you anything for it? What kind of a Dr. is he/she?
