Activities with a toddler?

My fiance and I are on a VERY limited budget, but we are wanting to find more things we can do together on Thursdays with our 17 month old daughter. We already go to Maymont Park in Richmond and found another park to go to.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

I am from powhatan, va, i take my twin girls to the richmond zoo, its $8 per adult and i think $5 per child , its really a nice place, my kids love going. Also the childrens museum on broad st. in Richmond is awsome for children. Another option i like is to find a pond or lake and take some stale bread and let my kids feed the ducks, they love that. The public library in Powhatan has Story and Activitie time, i'm sure other public librarys offer the same services and its free. I also am on a very limited budget, sometimes even if its free, we cant afford the gas to get there. My philosophy is if they are having fun, no matter whether its in the kitchen making paper airplanes, or out and about, thats all that matters.

If you get a time and you want to spend a LITTLE amount of money... Find a zoo near you. Kids LOVE them. I went with my friend and her 21 month old baby today and he loved it. They are usually cheap (like $9 for adults) and would be a fun one-day vacation when you have some extra money.

familyfun.com What about the beach? Or a nature walk, stop and let baby check out flowers, rocks, trees etc...

Or your backyard and play with baby in the water - if you have a sprinkler, or just use a hose!! Babies LOVE water. Throw a ball around with the baby. She would be thrilled just playing with you guys.

What about a local library.... lots of times if you call them they have "baby classes" where other parents bring their babies of the same age and have an age appropriate story time and singing! It's free and your daughter would love the other babies!

Or just going to the libray into the kids section and you reading a few books to her, then check out a cartoon DVD and go home and you all three could cuddle up to a good cartoon and some popcorn!!

The possibilities are endless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how about arts and crafts finger paint is fun , or if you have a large enough yard play catch with a big ball, blow bubbles ,you can make own paint from crepe paper and let her spray the side walk with it or get chalk let her color the driveway.sidewalk , you could have a picnic outside and sing songs read books just take a walk around your neighborhood , plant a garden with her
