HELP my daughter is severly constipated...?
Answers:
First a couple questions for you.what is she eating? is she under any unusual stress or new circumstances? ask her... the answer may not be obvious or something you are aware of.
Some natural solutions....warm water w/ a little lemon juice. massage her belly ,gentle as not to hurt the tender spots, though firm enough to move something in there... tender spots indicate where matter or gass is stuck. massage in circles in a clockwise direction as you face her from just above her belly button to just above her pubic bone...stroke should be like kneading bread pushing matter and air clock wise... if she is to tender try a genreal back massage esp mid and low back , even include hips and glute muscles...or lay one hand under her mid back and the other hand over her belly... she needs to relax and this could help. try getting her to eat some roasted beet root and baked sweet potatoe ... about 1/4 beet for hersize and a 1/4 cup of the mashed. avoid banana grapefruit wheat dairy sugar . chamomile tea or the water from a boiled whole grain like short grain brown rice will calm her nervous system and help her body's natural proccess to take over again. also has she had enough water? could be as simple as dehydration. try putting your hand on her belly where it hurts and ask her to take a deeeeeeep breath fill her belly with the breath....if she responds have her do it as long as she is willing... maybe tell her a long story get her to relax and keep her breathing into the belly the whole time.
I would avoid using harsh chemichal methods on such a young sensitive body...it could possibly shock her system and make things worse or end up creating such instant results that it could be really painful and violent feeling to her. little bodies are still so close to thier natural balance that they still respond well to natural solutions... also you must reflect to her that everything will be fine and that she will poo soon... seeing your calm confidence will make a world of difference... and seeing you get worked up over it will scare her. some yoga moves that could help her .... squating, lying on her back and hugging her knees to her chest, lying on her back bring both knees to one side of body then to the other.... deep breathing in every position...hold each one for a 5-10 breath count. I can't stress enough how much your calmness will support her rather than you getting spun out by her expressions of sufferring... not that I know what is going on over there but just thought I'd give you a handfull of things to work with all or some will combine to the effect you need. give it some time... when she is ready to "go" don't let her push and strain for that could irritate, swell and weaken her sphincter muscle wich would add to the problem... just get her to relax and breath... finding a way for her to be able to relax while in a squatting position over the toilet could be a golden key! good luck to you both... a natural proccess that will surely happen ... hopefully sooner than later... Michelle
