I have a little girl she is 13months old and only weights 17lbs 8oz?

She is very active, happy and healthy, she used to eat a lot for her weight but gradually she started not eating that much, her pediatrician sugested to give her pediacare but she dosn't like it, yesterday she barely ate,she takes few bites and then she closes her mouth and won't open it, does anybody have the same situation?

Answers:
Yes. My youngest is 12 months old & she weighs 17 lbs. She is happy, healthy & active. Have you given your daughter any regular foods or are you still only giving her baby food? My daughter won't have anything to do with baby food if there is "real" food anywhere in sight. My children do not like the pediasure either, try the regular ensure it taste better. Like another person wrote, when they are hungry they WILL eat, don't try to force her to eat. As long as your doc has no concerns she is fine. Also take in to consideration your size & the fathers size. I am only 5'2' and weigh about 110 lbs (even after having 4 children ages: 6, 4, 2, & 1), and her dad isn't very tall for a man. So she is bound to be petite all her life. It's not a bad thing at all as long as she is healthy. Good Luck.

Oh & to give you an idea of how little my 12 month old is, she still wears size 3 to 6 month clothes.
My parents always said... Kids eat when they are hungry. If they are not hungry, dont force them. They will eat enough to get by. Its when we start getting older that we over eat. Half of the little ones in my family were the same way. Now they are the ones that are in the best shape and the healthiest weight out of all of them now as adults.
