How do i install a gate at the top of stairs if i have a wall on 1 side and metal railing on the other?

Most of the gates are hardware mounted for the top of the stairs which is good but I'm not sure how i would install it since i don't have a wood banister but a metal one? Are there any gates out there that work with metal banisters? I know i can screw it into the wall on one side but i am at a loss as to how to connect it to the banister on the other side.

thank you :)

Answers:
I have the same situation at my house. We put the lock side to the wall and mounted it there. The other side we mounted on the metal rail pole at the top of the steps. You can screw it in to the top pole with an electric screw gun. I hope that helps!

You can use nylon ties to attach the gate to the railing side. Put the locking side to the wall.

have you tried plastic zip-ties? Have you tried searching on babygates.com? They have a lot of solutions for every kind of attachment. Here is a link to speciality mounting hardware: http://www.babygates.com/Webcomponents/Catalog/Public/showcategory.asp?cat=Gate+Mounting+Systems
