How safe is it to use a suppository for my son?

My son is 3 yrs and 10 months old.Our doctor suspects middlle ear fluid in him and he is going to have a procedure done under GA after 4days.Until then he has this severe pain in his right ear.It gets well with Diclofenac sodium suppository but is it ok to use it.For now 1 per day helps him to eat and sleep better.Need help.

Answers:
If he has a middle ear infection, don't you think he needs an antibiotic?
How would this problem be concerned with a suppository?
Diclofenac sodium is merely an anti-inflammatory drug and a pain killer.
Does he have infection in the ear canal as well?
You could mail me on joshi_goa@sancharnet.in for a faster response, if you need one. I'm a Paediatrician, after all!
i dont think so because just like with laxitives they tell your system that it does not have to move the waste out because the suppository will do it. Your son needs to develop the muscle control to do this on his own and using laxitives will not help him and may cause more damage ahead!
