Is it safe to mix water in whole milk and feed toddlers? Trying to wear her off the bottle.?

Answers:
You can mix water with whole milk, it is OK, won't hurt anything, but really not necessary to break her from the bottle. Move to sippy cups and show her you are giving the bottles to a little baby for them to use. She will catch on and like being a big girl drinking from a cup like everyone else in the household. Give her an extra snack before bed time and some juice to keep from giving in to a night bottle. They adjust pretty quickly if you are consistent with this just like other training areas.

Love her everyday and enjoy her baby years. Good Luck

Try using a sippie cup with a controlled flow to it

Yes, I did this with my daughter, and it worked like a charm. Just make sure that you do it slowly, and offer her plain whole milk in a sippy cup, so that she can still drink it if she wants. Its safe yes, but not the best choice. Try using a sippie cut with a soft spout.

Give the milk full strength in a sippy cup. The child still needs the nutrition. Take away the bottle before it causes damage to the teeth.

My nephew is the hardest child in the world to get off bottles, but when i watch him he does not get one. My daughter just simply had the bottle taken from her. One day i told her she was getting too old for the bottle and she had to start drinkig out of big girl cups. i introduced the sippy cup she got a bottle only at bed for next few says and then she eventually didn't get one at all. as for mixing water with whole milk, i don't see a problem with that at all, i was told my a Midwife to mix water with 1% when i first gave her real milk.

at night time switch the bottle with the sippy cup. It's ok to mix water with milk,I did that the whole milk was to strong for my son. yes it is quite safe i done it with both of my children i gradually increased the water with less milk until they were just drinking water in the end my children didn't want a bottle any more as they thought they were only getting water in it so they used cup as i would give a different drink each time in the cups.

Why would you mix water with whole milk to ween your child off a bottle? I took my daughter off of the bottle when she was 6 months. There was no transition to it. She drank juice from a cup, I knew she was able to drink out of a cup so bye bye bottle. Just throw them away.

I've never heard of doing it, but I'm sure it's okay. I just got rid of all my daughters bottles last week and switched to a sippy cup made by Gerber it's called a Nuby. Anyhow, it's worked fine with her. Good Luck!!!
