I can't get my 2 year old to sleep in his own room he says he's scared what to do?

He slept in his own room this whole time up until he came home from his fathers about 3 months ago since then it's been with me and he says he's scared scared of what I say the dark he always replys. If I put him in his bed he crawls over the edge and falls in the floor and we will do this all night it I keep putting him there but during the day at the babysitters he will sleep in a bed in a room all by himself what am I doing wrong.

Answers:
First try getting him a cool nightlight that is fire safe (it will say so). Then get him a bar thing to hook onto his bed. It's sort of like crib for a big boy! He still sleeps on a big boy bed just with a little fence like thing to keep him in bed and not on the floor. Also get some stuffed animals to "protect him". Let him pick them out himself!
