How can I get my 12 month old to sleep in her own crib all night.I've tried everything.?
Answers:
thats when you just let her cry. i mean make sure she isn't hurt, but go in and lay her down, cover her back up and tell her you love her. it may take a week but it worked for me and my freind. it olny took her one night and he slept all night and has every since.

our pediatrician said to not get up with them, they'll soon learn that night is for sleeping. It worked with both of em.
let them cry themselves to sleep if it gets annoying DO NOT use ear plugs you never know whats hapening to your baby or house when you can't hear.
be firm. It won't take long before she "gets it." Stay in bed.
When she wakes up take her to her crib and wait there until she falls asleep there. she will get us to sleeping there and waking up there.
have you tried letting her cry??? quit being a wimp and give her some tough love...
she got you trained just how she wants you now...
she is just to scared don't force her right now
my daughter does that when she's sick and the question you have to ask yourself is, do you want to sleep at all or not? contrary to myths, it's not gonna hurt her to take her and put her in bed with you to fall back to sleep...as long as you put her in her bed when she does, no harm, no fowl...she may need to feel secure b/c she may be having nightmares...
i find that i'd rather soothe my child and show her i'm there for her and will lie down with her until she falls back to sleep than just keep her in her bed all the time...sometimes it can be hard to get them out of a habit, but you know what? if you never allow them to feel the security they need when they're at their most vulnerable, then they won't come to you with their problems later...it's just like the whole pacifier thing...people say don't give it to them b/c it's horrible to break them from it...if it soothes the child for it's first couple of years, it's worth it to me to battle a couple of weeks to take it away when they don't really need it anymore...things like that and needing to fall back to sleep with you are security things...things that help them feel safe and like nothing bad can happen to them...babies get nightmares, too and they need to feel comforted when they do...
so if i were you, i'd take her and let her fall to sleep with you and then put her back in her crib...babies can cry a loooooooong time and if you want to stay up half the night just letting her cry it out, then good luck to you...
My daughter is 17 months old, and still doesn't sleep through the night. Like you, we are limited in what we can do because we don't want to offend our neighbors (not to mention in the middle of the night it's a lot easier just to nurse her and get everyone back to sleep quicker). And like you, she got used to getting to sleep in bed with us after I let her do it a couple times when she was sick. What worked for me to get her back in the crib (but still not sleeping through the night, alas) was to get up right away when she woke up, nurse her, and put her back in the crib. Not taking her out of her room was the key, after a couple of nights she seemed to forget that sleeping in bed with Mommy and Daddy was even an option. I also put more blankets in her crib, which helped her both with a sense of security and warmth. The first couple night were the hardest though, I remember having to rock her back to sleep after I nursed her, trying to put her down in the crib, only to have her wake up again and having to start it all over again. I would suggest picking a week to start moving her back to the crib when everyone has a light scheduele during the day so that the lack doesn't bother you so much. Good luck!
