Is my baby too fat or does she just have toddler chubbyness?

My daughter is 28months old and weighs 32 lb 12 oz. She is only about 2.5 feet tall. My pediatrtion says she is in the 90th percentile for weight and only the 7th for height. I asked for her BMI but he wont give it to me saying she is too young and that she just has a "short stature". I think she looks perfectly fine to me but I want to make sure she is healthy. We eat fairly healthy only getting fast food at the max 2 times a month, but we do eat a lot of processed food as I am on Social assistance and can't afford fresh all the time. What should I do to make sure she isnt overweight and that she is just naturally larger. ( she was only 6lbs 15oz when born)

Isn't it wonderful how kids are SO different???

(That is what I say when people tell me how SMALL my daughter is)

My baby girl is 11 mos old, and only 17 pounds. She was 7 obs 15 oz at birth. She nurses ALL the time, and eats solid foods like a MANIAC. She can out-eat her big 3yo brother! She eats healthy too. Yet, there she is, in the 7th percentile for weight and 60th for height. People ask me all the time "Well, how often do you feed her?" As if it's their business! It really gets on my nerves because it feels like they accuse me of starving my child. But that is NOT the case.
We are all just made so differently. As long as you sweetie girl is eating healthily, and getting enough physical activity (which most 2yo don't EVER stop moving!) then I wouldn't be worried even one bit!! She has got a lot of growing and changing to do yet!

my daughter was born 6lb9.5oz and and she is now 16 mths and is about 26-27lbs... so i think that your daughter is doing good.

she just have toddler chubbyness What are u feeding her??

she's fine. just a little one. everyone is built different. and its just baby fat. it will go away in a few years. and she is 2 years old now, stop using months.

he just have toddler chubbyness

i bet she is adorable

all 3 of my kids were in the high percentile for their ages in weigh until they turned 3-4 years old......it is baby chub

just make sure she is active enough, my oldest was 30 lbs at 2 years old and now she is 8 and 55lbs, she is tall and very slim

when she starts getting closer to the 3 year mork she will get taller and it will even out

I think thats alright. I dont know alot about babies but just guessing, I think its not fat. Just baby chubbyness. With children it doesnt matter about there wait unless the doctor says something.

If the doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.

It also depends on how tall people in your family are!
My friends baby was in the high percentiles for everything, but her parents are tall and so are her grandparents!
She may grow tall! She may not!
I don't have anyhing else to say!
Good Luck!!

all children are different, and they all develop differently..... Just ask your doctor straight out if she is overweight, and what you should do, also, compare her to other kids. dont stress about it unless you see her eating habits change or lack of energy.

as long as she doesnt look like those babies on maury, she'll be fine.

she will out grow it Make sure she eats fresh fruit and veggies. Don't feed juice or any other type of drink....... milk and water. My kids are both tall and slim. My five year old is 45 inches tall and 39 pounds.... He is in the lower percentile for weight, but the doctor says that is healthier and he will probably not struggle with weight. My little one is 13 months old and 19 pounds. Again, he gets only natural foods, water and breastmilk.
As long as you aren't giving sugar and empty calories, your daughter will hit her designated weight.

maybe she has big bone structure but not fats?
Family genes? I think that it is great that you are concerned, but she sounds fine, especially if your doctor is not concerned. The best thing you can do is make sure she gets plenty of exercise, many don't get enough exercise and don't use food as treats. Using food as treats will teach her bad habits for life, like that when you want to feel good you eat. At this point I would switch to fat free milk if she drinks a lot of milk, she obviously doesn't need the fat in it. Try to go outside and play more if you don't already.
