What is a good age to start potty training my son who is now 14 months?
Answers:
I would introduce him to the potty now. Show him what you are supposed to do in it. Then if he still isn't interested when he is 2, then you can start really focusing on it. My oldest son was very easy. I bought him some Mickey Mouse underwear and told him that Mickey was sad when he got wet. It took him 2 weeks to completely be out of diapers including night time. My daughter was a little more stubborn, she did it on her own time. When she was ready, she just did it. I don't take any credit for her. I just showed her how to do it. My youngest son was a nightmare. He took about 8 months of constant potty attention and he was still in pull ups at nighttime at 4. But with all of them, I started when they were 2. They will let you know if they are ready or not.

If he's walking pretty good and starting to communicate it's good this begin now but ideally 18 mos.

Potty training my nephew.
2 yrs old You should start bringing him with you just before 2 years old.
Then start sitting him on the potty when he turns 2.
Don't chastise, Don't spank.
Just let him get used to going with you or Dad. That's how I trained my daughter, it worked like a charm!
Good Luck!
I just asked my pediatrician that very question. He said you can start potty training a boy between 2 and 3 but closer to 3 years of age. My friend works at a pediatricians office and she asked him and he said, when you put a dry diaper on the little one before bed and he wakes up with a dry diaper then he is ready. He has control over his bladder. I hope this helped. At 18 months start familarizing your son with the potty. Get a potty seat. Have him sit on it with clothes, then progress to him bare bottom. No pressure and he doesn't even have to do anything. Have him sit on it when you go. progress to pull ups and the feeling of underwear (at home where accidents can easily be taken care of). My son was trained early, by he own choice (using the above guidance)at 28 months. Don't expect potty trained before three though.
wait till he is almost 2..and can really start understanding things.... but boys take long then girls ... so have Patience with him
usually between 2 & 2 a half. start putting a potty around for your child to sit on and get used to to, your child will let u know by starting recognising they have done something in there nappy, never force potty training on a child as they will go backwards.Give it another 14 months before you even think of starting potty training. there is no age. When he seems ready and you are ready its time. A child's bladder isn't even fully developed until he is 3 years of age. Ask any doc. I waited until my sons were almost 3 until I started. It only took about 2 weeks literally. to this day they have never had a accident or wet the bed.
Now, i am a firm believer that if a child can walk they can be potty trained. I actualyl started puttign my lil girl on a potty when she coudl sit alone, so she would be comfortable with it when she could walk. If he isnt ready then he wont use it but the sooner you start him, the sooner he will get comfy. Soo many ppl coddle their kids, they need that independence and us mosm sure meed to stop lugging around that diaper bag!
