What are the best snacks for a 1 1/2 yr old that dont make much mess and simple?

Answers:
Quakes. They are rice cakes. Come in different flavors. They are a good size for my 18 month old's little hands. They are big enough that two take her a while to finish so she's not after me right away for some more. They are not unhealthy . They may crumble a little but nothing like crackers. My daughter loves them.

Other Answers:
My parents always gave me cheerios. However, I never really liked them 'cause they're kinda bland... but they are easy and not messy.

there is no such food that does not make mess to a toddler of that age so i suggest that you make sure you have the relevant things to tidy after you cut-up fruit. cereal. (and i'm not sure what your criteria is for "don't make much mess"--i think that 18 mo. olds are big into mess, and there isn't much one can do about it except throw down a sheet.)

cheese

cheerio's is the best toddler food,it's not messy, although it is bland. try the yogurt burst cheerio's

try bagged fruit, you can't get things that don't take work in some form or another. fruit would be beter than say a mars bar. peeled cut up fruits and veggies. If you pick firm ones like apples anc cucumber there wont be much mess plus they feel good on teething gums. Most fruits and veggies arent real messy anyway, and if you're worried about it just put a towel or sheet under the highchair or whatever seat s/he's in.

There's not much that won't make a mess, but, cut- up bananas and apples and cereals like Cherrios and Fruit Loops would be good.

Cut up hotdog pieces are a good lunch/snack. Unforutnately there's not much that doesn't make a mess if you are not right there with him... :) My son loves bananas, tomatos, cucumbers, grapes. They can make a mess, but they are good and healthy. Another thing my son likes is the Gerber Fruit Puffs, cherry flavor. They are kind of like cereal, but they melt in baby's mouth really easy so they don't choke on them.

Oyster crackers, goldfish crackers, cheerios, cut up apples and animal crackers are all fav's of my 2yr old. Cheese torn up into squares mixed with the kid's favorite cereal. Lunchmeat and cheese roll-ups. Crackers of any kind. Veggies and dip (although dip can be messy if let unsupervised). Yogurt (can also be messy). Microwavable mac and cheese. Granola bars. Muffins, especially if they have fruit in them. Fruit salad.

Cheerios, Gerber makes fruit and veggie puffs, dried fruit

string cheese and grapes

Gerber veggie and fruit puffs. They are kind of like cereal, but they disolve faster. My son LOVES them. Gerber Fruit Puffs are bite size, so they are not messy, and my son Loves them! You can also get Club cracker sticks. They are a lot less messy because they fit right in their little hand and are easy to bite.

I think "wonderer" is on the right track saying chereos. But, I , too, think that they are kinda plain and boring.
I don't know...but can 1.5 year olds eat celery? If so, try "ants on a log". Spread penut butter on a celery stick and stick "ants", or raisins, on top.
How about smooshed up bananas with some sugar. Or sugar coated strawberries.
