What is a good age to start pre school?

My daughter is 3. She knows her colors, numbers and alphabet.

Answers:
it depends on your daughter. Some children are ready and rearing to go as young as two. Others are not ready for daily craziness that can be preschool. The best way to find out, is to let her try. First ask to visit for a day to check it out and see if she is even interested. If she is, give it two weeks, if she is still wanting to go, she will let you know. Make sure the School is a good one, with lots of exiting activities and projects.
Good luck and remember its all about having fun.

3 or 4 they say that 2 years of preschool is no better than 1 but if she is interested and potty trained then send her. She's at the perfect age now! Sign her up!

3 or 4. It depends on the child really. I'd say 4 at the oldest, most children have some kind of preschooling these days, and I have noticed that kindergartens expect a bit more from kids because of it. It depends if your daughter has siblings or other kids in the neighborhood she plays with at least 3 to 4 times a week and has plenty of social interaction with parents ,friends and relatives you might wait till she is 4. I personally feel that pre-school helps children learn more than just alphabets and colors. They teach manners, turn taking, independence (for potty training etc), discipline, social interaction, language and many others. It's not impossible to teach this at home but as long as she is learning these valuable lessons through play dates, outings maybe to story time, museums, parks etc . You can wait till she is 4.To keep your growing pre-schooler active try reading some books meant for play with a preschooler and try it at home. Hope this helps.

I see no problem sending your child at 3 to Pre-school. But I think that at age 3 its more of a daycare instead of Pre-school, even though they do teach 3yr olds. I do think you should put her in Pre-school when she is 4 and just about going to turn 5 that way all that information she has learned can stay in her head until she attends Kindergarten. But good luck.
