What are some good ideas for Preschool Art projects for home schoolers?

Answers:
making their own photo frames, the handprint in the clay that they can paint and decorate, necklaces with big colorful beads, making critters out of cereal boxes (use the box as the body, and then use felt, or constuction paper, for the head, and pipe cleaners for antennas, and let the kids make the animal/monster/critter that they choose), let each kid decorate a square of fabric of their choice with fabric glue, and then sew together the pieces into a blanket that would be accessible to them to share, have the kids practice their writing skills, by writing journals in books, and adding pictures that they color describing what they have written, making cookies (Easter cookies), and have the kids decorate them with icing, and using macaroni noodles with cardboard, have the kids decorate their piece of cardboard only with the macaroni noodles in the shape of their faces.

Hope this helps! :)

To do basic art in the style of other artists -- whether of a children's book artist like Eric Carle, or of abstract painters like Mondrian or Matisse (not so abstract, but you get the idea.)

plaster of paris hand prints put the wet plaster in a deep paperplate then let the child push their little hand into it . then write the name of the child and the date and age under the print....makes a great keepsake make one for the grandpartent also they will love it Water-based finger paint (easy to clean up), making hats out of construction paper (2 black pieces, cut 1 into circle, cut out center this becomes brim and top, roll other piece and tape together with brim and top and you have a stovepipe hat, like Lincoln) and making Frisbees out of Cd's.

I am a nanny for a 2 1/2 year old. I have been doing art with him since he was one. I have found the best way to do art with kids is pick a topic.... (animals.abc, books you have read, truck, ect.) once you pick a topic make plans including, painting, gluing, cutting, maker(color),)After you've covered those make it fun here's one idea, show the many ways of stamps, sponges, apples, pears, potatoes, etc. If you'd like anymore ideas let me know!

Martha Stewart has a Kids magazine that has lots of interesting projects that you can do. They bring in science along with art, so it's fun and educational.
