Why do little kids always have to follow us mom's into the restroom?

Answers:
I agree. It's only the moms. My husband puts his foot down and leaves my son crying in the hallway. I don't have the heart.

And for those who are obviously not parents: she's talking about the bathroom at home, not in public.

After answering this question I actually went to the bathroom without my son following me in. I spent the entire time wondering what he was up to. So I don't know why they do it, but I know why I allow it -Peace of mind!

Other Answers:
Hey I used to do it... But I was too little to remember why. :D

because htye dont understand the need for privacy I think its for security. Mothers give their children a sense of security therefore they always want to be near them even in the bathroom

Because they don't want to be left alone outside a smelly bathroom with a bunch of strangers and/or child molesters. Go ahead...make them wait outside and see what happens.

So the sick perverts don't snatch them.

i think its the creepy person that walks into the stale next 2 yours that the kid is scared of LOL now that is a question I would LOVE to know the answer to.

Maybe because if mom is doing something in secret it MUST be great!!!
Or maybe because thats the one place you really want to be alone and they can sense that and cant stand you would want to be away from them even for just a second.

LOL I have no idea, My son does it cause he likes to flush the toilet for me when I am done, LOL Would you rather a woman left her kids outside the bathroom
while she went in?

what little boy wants to be detached from Mommy ???????? It is a normal thing that little kids do.

My youngest child does it, she's two. Evidently going potty is interesting to her, just not interesting enough for her to do it herself. Maybe it's a learning thing. I don't know, but it would be nice to have a little privacy once and awhile.

Because it's save for your children to be around u so if anyone is messing with them u can stop them. They are looking for the security of their mom's. My mom told us we had to stay where she could see us at all times. Just for safety's sake.In these days in times i wouldn't leave my kid out in the hall where they can maybe meet up with the wrong person.

Because we might otherwise have 30 seconds of privacy! There is a "toddler law" against that. It is strictly enforced. ;)

Seriously, I guess curiosity or seperation anxiety.

children follow parents around because they seek closeness to their parents and feel secure when that parent is present. You should be glad that you make your children so comfortable and safe to be near you. You may not be comfortable when they are in the restroom with you, but you could talk to them and tell them that you are not leaving them, you just have to use the potty. If they are really little and don't understand, than you shouldn't feel strange to go potty in front of them. You could use the opportunity to teach them about the potty. They are not old enough to know or remember , or for that fact CARE about your potty affairs. OMG I just went through this about 10 minutes ago! I have 2 kids 3 and 19 months and
they both have to go in there with me and sit on the ledge of the bathroom until im done. AND IT DRIVES ME NUTS!
but i think i did it to my mom and i dont remember why though. i think i was to little but i wish my kids wouldnt do it!

this will help then to learn themselves theses no hearm in it Honestly....we ask them to stay by us all the time...they haven't learned privacy yet and are just obeying your commands to have them close.... You don't just leave them anywhere where you are not in sight otherwise do you? :)

tiny bladders

i have 3 little girls and i can never go to the bathroom alone. but to tell you the truth it really helps with potty trianing.

Because he loves you and doesn't like the fact that he can't see you. I share everything with my daughter and do not mind having my daughter with me in the bathroom. She is 2 years old and is already starting to use the potty herself. I guess it's just that they want to imitate us and see what we do in there with the door closed.

That's not always a bad thing. Esp if they're not potty trained. It really helps give them an understanding of what it's for, so use it as a time to teach, even it they seem to young it's never too early to start talking about it. Both of my kids do it sometimes and they're 6 and 9.
