Yes It will teach them not to do again When I was Young My parents would give me One spank On the butt and I never did it again. Now people give their kids time outs THEY DO NOT WORK they send There kids to there rooms to punish them for doing something bad plus you send them they have TV video games computers phones etc. they will will play with so what do they learn nothing. But a GOOD SPANK ON THE BUTT THEY WILL LEARN FAST

I belive a spank, a quick smack on the butt, is okay in moderation. A spank should just be hand to butt and while it may leave a red mark, it shouldn't leave a welt.

Spanking seems to work on some kids, however my son is 8 and he has adhd and Odd and this form of discipline will not surfice his outbursts. ODD is opposistional Difiant Disorder. He is very defiant and time out and taking away things he loves seems to work better.

Yes it is not only "ok" it is the only truly effective way to keep a child from becoming "spoiled" and feeling the sense of entitlement to everything. like they deserve everything they see. just be sure you are spanking for the right reason. it can be an extremely effective teaching tool, but can also cause permanent damage to your relationship with your child if its ever done for the sake of venting or out of frustration . i would say atleast try it once. from then on the child will know there are consequences for any actions in the future and that spanking will always atleast be an option you'll consider.

Use a small stick to hit their palm of hands, calf, or buttocks. Using stick ("discipline stick") will let them know that you're not just hitting them, but being disciplined because they did something wrong. And most importantly do it out of love and not hate. It is also important before or after spanking to talk to the child and let him/her know what he/she did wrong and why it is wrong in a calm tone of voice.
