I have a one year old little girl?

My fiance and I both come from a backround of abuse and neglect. We have never hurt our daughter in any way shape or form and we are strongly against abuse. We have a hard time playing with her because we don't have any experince with children and we want to give her evrything we didn't have growing up. What are some fun easy games for us to play with her. The 2's and up are so easy and we can't wait for them to come. But the 1's seem so what do we do? Can anyone give us some tips on any good fun games for a one year old to play?

Answers:
Most one year old children love games such as peek a boo, and singing and clapping games. Check at a bookstore for books with all kinds of rhymes for these games.

Try non-toxic finger paint and play dough - kids love that. Use big pieces of paper on the floor and real cookie cutters, etc.

Read lots of books with funny sounds and counting.

All kinds of stacking games are good - the stacking toys, blocks, boxes, packages, etc.

Rolling balls back and forth is usually popular with them.

They often like to climb into things such as empty boxes and clothes baskets.

A safety mirror is a good thing to have for a child of that age - they love looking at themselves and others in a mirror. When my kids were little I kept one attached securely to the wall at their level.

The "where's your nose" game is a good one, and you can make it as complicated as your child can cope with.

They love playing in water with different containers, so the kitchen skin can be great fun.

My grandson has a laundry basket that he (or someone else) fills with light plastic balls and he loves dumping them all out again.

Often the very simple things are what they enjoy most - empty egg cartons, boxes, plastic containers, etc.

I hope these thoughts help. Have fun!
The good fun games/toys is "yourself and your fiance" !!! Kids always like to have someone to play with.
