My toddler hasnt peed since he got a cathider 4 hours ago, is this normal?

I have been at the Dr. Office all week trying to find out why my 14 month old has a fever. They gave him a cathider this morning to take a urine sample, it didnt work he clamped up. Im trying to get him to pee, but nothing. I have tried a bath, running his hands in warm water, and nothing. I know he has to pee, but hes scarred or it hurts. If you have any advice, or maybe you have been through this please im listening to anything.

Answers:
My little boy had the same problem. You have to know if it hurts. My little boy was playing in the tub and got soap to close to his privet area.He got a fever and refused to urinate, because it hurt so much. What you have to do is ask him if his 'privet area' hurts when he tries to potty. If he says yes try to concentrate him with lots of fluids and keep giving him baths.I know it sounds vile but ask him to try to go potty when he is in the tub. When he tries to pee it will be a vaccum effect water goes out and comes in.Cleaning him out.Now if he refuses to pee, that is not your problem,if he CANNOT pee he is dehidrated,or has a blockage.Good luck!

Call the doctor. I am not a medical expert, but I don't think that is normal. Get him help.

I would concentrate on giving him liquids. I would be
calling the doctor or take him to the emergency room if
after giving him plenty of fluids, he still hasn't gone
in a few hours or so. Thinking about it, how would you
be able to know if he went in the bath? Try to calm down
and not focus so much on his going. That could scare him
or make it seem like a game. He needs plenty of fluid with
a fever anyway. Give him juice, water, even pop, but not
milk.
