what factor sunblock should i use on my son``?

my son is 20 months and we are going to portugal tomorrow what would be the best factor to put on him as we are going for 2 weeks and would be afriad of damaging his skin and he's too young to have skin problems

Answers:
Most kids sunscreen comes in 50 s.p.f.

Other Answers:
the highest sun factor you can get
we use 50 on ours
30 SPF minimum.
spf 50
only use factor 30 or higher
just to be safe don't let him in the sun anylonger than 20 mins
spf 50 but make sure its a childrens sunblock it is different then adult any walmart, target, meyers, or walgreens should have it
I use 50 SPF. I believe it is recommended to use 30 or above on little ones.
50+ the appropriate for babies.
the best thing is not to use too many chemicals on little kids, but sunblocks are a different story. there are special sunblocks designed for kids normally spf30+. anpther thing, try to always cover the child with hats and t-shirts, that protectst them from being bunt too
factor 45, without a doubt. total sunblock is the only way.
Anything over SPF15 is really useless. Just remember to keep reapplying it. Especially if he sweats or gets in water. About every hour to an hour and a half or check with his pediatrician.
Use the highest factor you can get hold of! I would recommend Boots own brand as it is the only 5 star rated sun cream. They do kids ones that are factor 50+, and are coloured green so you can see where you put it. They are also buy one, get one free at the moment.

Definitely agree with the others - factor 50. The children's suncreams out there will not harm his skin in anyway, they are all made with little ones in mind. Don't forget to continually reapply as well, even if he hasn't been in the water it gets rubbed and sweated off, so even if the bottle says you don't need to, keep slapping it on.

Have a great holiday - Portugal is lovely!
factor 50, make sure the one you buy has at least 4 uva stars displayed on the back of bottle, theses uva rays are the ones that will burn your sons skin. make sure,
you apply every couple of hours
have a nice holiday
Spf 15 is all you really need so long as you apply it thickly and all over an spf 30 does not have double the protection as you might think it is only 3% better. I buy Banana Boat because it is waterproof and sweatproof. They have a Baby version that comes in spf 50 i get that sometimes because it doesn't sting the eyes. They also have a Kids version and a sport version all for reasonable price.
I would def use factor 50. Babies skin is really delicate so make sure you put lots on and keep reapplying. Have a great holiday!
You can buy sunblock made specifically for small children. It's called "Water Babies" or something like that. It even comes in a tube like a large chap-stick for putting on his face. If you some reason you can't find it, I would use the highest SPF you can find. Regardless of what you use, try to minimize his exposure to the sun as much as possible.
The highest SPF you can get. There's a brand called No-Ad, who oddly enough, don't advertise, thus keeping their prices really low. It's lovely and thick, smells nice and lasts for ages, as well as being super cheap. I'd get the factor 45 or 50. But always remember to reapply, especially after swimming or excessive sweating.

Have a nice Holiday!
Use the highest factor that you can get. 50 is good. Use it on yourself too, you need to be around for your son, no point protecting him and not yourself.
i used factor 45, water babies, its really good stuff, but remember to keep applying it!
Tota sunblock. SPF factor 60 or above if you can find it. Make sure he stays out of the sun(stick him under an umerella), wears a hat all the time and drinks plenty of fluids.
A complete block would be best. Lots of companies make cream especially for children. Boots have lots of offers on at the moment.

The higher the number the better just remember to remember to read the directions before you use it.I think most tell you to put it on at least 15 minutes be fore you go outside.
At least 30. Try to get 50+.

You can get nice coloured spray-on ones (I forget the brand name) that kids find fun; my 22 mo old daughter keeps asking for her "suncream" to be put on, even when it's pouring outside.
factor 50 have a nice holiday and don't forget to keep reaplying :)
Any SPF 15 or above is good. Although any factor above 15 does not afford any better. The adverts can be very confusing sometimes but reputed medical dermatology textbooks will give you that answer.
the highest possible, and make sure he ahs a hat, and spends a lot of the time under the sunshade. Temperatures round here on the Costas is getting around 38 degrees celcius at the moment, so it's gonna be hot in Portugal as well.
The highest non allergenic factor you can find, also ensure he wears a hat as much as possible and is keep as much in the shade as poss ie under umbrellas etc
Hi, I've a 15mth old son and we put him in a sun suit with long arms / legs and hat. Only need to put sun block on face, hands, feet and neck. It's great he can run around and we don't have to worry (tomuch) about the sun. The heat is another thing.

Enjoy the hols.
I use coppertone Water Babies for my 10 month old daughter and 21/2 year old son. It is SPF 50.
