what is a good daycare for a 3yr. old?
Answers:
Speaking from experience. My children are in the Heartland program. It is a program for early childhood development. I believe that learning centers are a must. My daughter will be 3 this month. At the age of two, she could say her ABC's, her colors, count to atleast 10. She knows all the emotions we have. By looking at pics and stuff. By putting your child in a learning center rather than a daycare, they learn the concepts of structure, education, and they still get to have fun with their friends. My neice is two months younger than my daughter, and there is no comparison. She goes to a regular daycare. I have been told thru the heartland program that the first 5 yrs of a child's life are the most important for their brains to develop healthy.

that is Texas's CPS website. They have listings of licensed childcare agencies, and information to help you sort through them. Any agency listed with them is regularly inspected and regulated strictly.
Be sure to visit any daycare you are interested in using. Take your child with you to watch his/her reaction. Look for cleanliness, activities (not just coloring), preschool for 3 y/o, meals (do they follow FDA guidelines), location (you don't want to drive forever because most daycares charge $1 per minute for overtime), and be sure and read any and all paperwork very carefully.

in-home daycare teacher Look around at the local day-cares either close to your home or close to place of employment.... I don't know of any in your area but can tell you that i have looked into some for my 3 children and what i looked for was:
program: is just a daycare or does it provide educational stimulation
is it a structured environment example: snack-time, story-time, educational interaction, meals at a scheduled time, free play, and outside time
what is provided, food, snacks etc.
ask for a tour and see how the caregivers interact with the children and how they react to them: 3 years olds can tell you a lot with their actions about people
what is policy on a drop in visit? some day-cares allow a parent to drop in unannounced at anytime of the day, but not usually at nap-time
always ask for references.. other parents that are willing to tell you about the daycare.
always check and make sure they have a valid license and there are no complaints.. if you ask caregiver will give information and where to go to check it out...
it may sound like a lot but when it comes to your child it's never enough...
Hope this helps!!!!
