HELP......My daughter's school graduation is May 18th and theme is Children Around the World........?

they want us to dress the children multiculturally (you know what ever you heritage is) well, we are italian, irish and german, any ideas on an outfit for my daughter? They just told us that this week. The only thing we can come up with is the german bar girl, but that really isn't appropriate for a 5 year old. HELP....and no dumb answers please or I will report you...thanks!

We are supposed to dress our children our heritage, not just pick one...so...like i said, we are italian, irish and german...need ideas for that...thanks!

Answers:
I have an idea... Why not get your daughter to wear a simple white dress, a folksy looking one. Most cultures have something similar to this. It's like a staple of traditional clothing. Then, have her wear a thick sash over her shoulders, like a shawl, that y'all decorated yourselves to represent your family's heritage. You can sew it yourself; or if pressed for time or what not, get a plain white one and buy fabric paints. Basically, divide the shawl into three different sections. On each, sew on or paint the flag that represents each of your cultures. Then, get pictures, charms, or more fabric paints to illustrate or write a few things from each culture and place them either on the flags (tastefully) or on the other side of the shawl. It'd be like how our grandmothers sometimes make those memory quilts or mantles that have a story to say about the old country or family's past. It would be a wonderful thing for y'all to do together so that she can learn more personal things about her multicultural background. It's way better than just sending your child off in a costume because it's her assignment. Expressing a personal representation of who she is and then being able to share this with others will make for a very memorable and special graduation. Congratulations to her and Good Luck!!!

im not sure if this would be stupid. but maybe like a kilt or like a plaid skort with a bagpipe? not suer if you have a bagpipe but... or just wear the countrys colors

think italy.....white scarfs tied around the neck...thick striped shirts...with one of those flatish hats....i forget what their called, but im italian, partially anyways. Research items of clothing from all and pick something you like of each to represent them. Like a hair style or hat from one a dress from the other maybe a pair of shoes in one style. In the colors you need.

I guess if you did not think it too weird get a iron on printed of in the countries flag and iron them on a plain skirt with a top representing one of the Countries.

do some research into all the and see some outfits that are specific to her age. i would pick just one, the most dominate. they won't know either way that you picked only one. or, you could incorporate some of all three into a unique outfit, dont stress, everything will be fine. Pick the one and then just use those colors to make a dress for her (I hope you can sew) or buy something online (ebay amazon you have enough time for the shipping)

Google it or something

Get her a shirt that says Italia.
